INAUGURAL JAGUAR GOLF CLASSIC IN AID OF THE IRISH YOUTH FOUNDATION
The Inaugural Jaguar Golf Classic for the Irish Youth Foundation (IYF) will take place in the prestigious K Club on July 4th 2014. As the date is 4th July, and this is a Ryder Cup year, there will be an Independence Day and Ryder Cup theme to the event with the 26 teams divided into team USA and team Europe. All funds raised will go to supporting Irish Youth Foundation funded projects for at-risk and disadvantaged children in Ireland and the teams will be entertained by comedian Oliver Callan at a gala dinner following the day’s golf.
Ryan and Eoin were pictured at the launch with the new Jaguar F-TYPE and Eoin brought along the coveted RBS Six Nations Trophy.
The IYF is an independent charitable trust dedicated to meeting the needs of vulnerable children and young people living in disadvantaged circumstances on Ireland.
The Foundation provides financial support in the form, of grants to local community and voluntary youth groups working with at-risk and disadvantaged children, such as afterschool and homework clubs, summer programmes, sporting clubs, creative education projects and active citizenship activities. These groups provide safe places where children can go after school – to grow, to learn and to play.
Niall McLoughlin, IYF Director of Development said, “We are very excited about hosting our first golf event. Having it in the K Club with a Ryder Cup theme, and with Oliver Callan providing the entertainment, and of course having a fantastic sponsor like Jaguar should make it a really great day and night.
The money raised will fund projects which work with children who often experience poverty, parental misuse of drugs, and alcohol, crime and mental health issues. These projects are beacons of hope which enhance and improve their lives.”
Melanie McCourt, Jaguar Land Rover Ireland Marketing Manager, said: "We are proud to support the Irish Youth Foundation and the excellent work it does to bring help and relief to young people in need. We’re very much looking forward to the Jaguar Golf Classic in July where our full range of Jaguar cars will be on display, including the new F-TYPE Coupe.”
