Interior Climate
INTERIOR CLIMATE

Heating and air conditioning systems use energy and this can reduce range.

These systems are most often used at the start of a journey so, to reduce the impact on range, I‑PACE has the ability to pre-condition the interior ahead of departure while the car is still charging. This allows I‑PACE to use electricity from the power supply, and not the battery, to heat or cool the interior.

Extreme low and high temperatures impact upon how well a battery can maintain its level of charge.

I‑PACE features sophisticated thermal management systems which help to keep the battery at its optimal temperature and minimise the impact of outside temperatures on the car's range.

Driving Style
DRIVING STYLE

One of the biggest impacts on range is the driver. Frequent, heavy acceleration will have a detrimental impact on the car's state of charge, whereas travelling at a steady pace will help an electric car preserve range. Gradual acceleration can also reduce your reliance on hard braking which consumes more energy than gentle braking.

Driving in Traffic
DRIVING IN TRAFFIC

Both acceleration and braking use power.

Repeated acceleration and braking, as experienced in congested traffic, can be as draining on the battery as they are on the driver.

Maintaining a steady speed as much as possible during heavy traffic will help to preserve range.

CLEAN, CONVENIENT, HASSLE FREE

Jaguar I‑PACE’s battery is charged via the car’s plug-in charge point, discreetly located behind the front wheel arch. Once plugged in, you are free to leave Jaguar I‑PACE to charge. The vehicle will automatically stop charging when it reaches full charge. It’s safe to charge the car in the rain, or even when parked in snow, as the charging system is entirely self-contained.

HOME CHARGING
For optimum charging at home, you can install an approved Jaguar wall box1. I-PACE is equipped with a 7kW single phase AC on-board charger2, which can fully recharge the vehicle overnight and deliver up to 35km of range per hour. When using a domestic socket, charging rates are slower than a wall box (up to 11km of range per hour), but are sufficient to cover the average daily commute of 60km if the vehicle is charged overnight.
PUBLIC CHARGING
I-PACE comes with a Mode 3 cable that connects to AC (alternating current) public charging points, the standard in most countries. You can easily find public AC charging points at a multitude of locations by using either the Jaguar Remote App or the Navigation system. A typical 50kW charger can deliver up to 270km (168 miles) of range per hour2. DC (direct current) rapid chargers with tethered cables are increasingly available as the public charging infrastructure improves. I-PACE is equipped to accept up to a 150kW DC charge rate through a tethered DC cable, so there’s no need to carry one.

HOME CHARGING CABLE
The home charging cable enables you to charge the vehicle using a domestic power socket. Ask your Jaguar Retailer for more information on using I-PACE in other countries.
PUBLIC CHARGING CABLE
The Public Charging Cable (known as a Mode 3 Charging Cable) connects I-PACE to standard AC public charging points4. This cable can also be used to connect to a home wall box. Rapid DC public charging points feature a tethered cable so you do not need to supply your own. Ask your Jaguar Retailer for more information on your local and national public charging networks.

PRESERVING RANGE

I‑PACE is equipped with technology to preserve range and protect the vehicle’s battery. With cabin preconditioning, for example, you can heat or cool the interior while I‑PACE is charging and the electricity used will be drawn from the mains supply, not the battery.

ECO MODE

Eco Mode helps preserve I‑PACE's range by reducing energy depletion and encouraging a more efficient driving style. It also makes subtle changes to cabin temperature, air recirculation and to a number of the car's other features. You can override these changes by normal operation of each feature or via the menu settings.

27kW electricity supply is available in most countries.

3Jaguar has preferred public charging suppliers for all markets in which I‑PACE is available, and you will be able to choose from a variety of tariffs depending on how often you use the charging points available. A DC rapid charger provides large amounts of energy in a short time. The charging rate can decrease as the battery reaches full capacity, so customers may choose to rapid charge to 80% capacity, or just for the extended range required.

4A Public Charging Cable (Mode 3 Charging Cable) is supplied as standard with I‑PACE models sold in mainland Europe.


*WLTP (Worldwide harmonised Light vehicle Test Procedure) is the new process that has been phased in from 2017, which measures fuel, energy consumption, range and emissions in passenger vehicles in Europe. This is designed to provide figures closer to real-world driving behaviour. It tests vehicles with optional equipment and with a more demanding test procedure and driving profile.
